Traveling with pets!

Are you taking pets on your trip? We are too! We are traveling with one little dog, two guinea pigs and 2 parakeets so it will be a full truck 😀.
We packed enough food for a week, plus many extra days for each animal. We sealed each type of food in a sandwich or gallon bag or kept it in there normal bag. But make sure the bags are sealed, it will prevent it from spilling and making a huge mess and it from becoming stale.
For the dog, we packed her leash, toys (not pictured) treats and lots of food. Make sure you have the dogs collar on at all times and make sure you stop throughout the day and let them go to the bathroom. You can let them out with a leash on at each gas station and stop you take.
Lucy is going to ride between me and my brother in the back seat. Over time she has become more comfortable in the truck and is able to sleep in the truck. If possible take your dog for rides when you can so they can get comfortable.
Pickles and Sppahire the parakeets are going to be riding at my brother's feet. We had to put then in the smaller cage. But we made sure we had enough room to put the food, water and a toy or two in there.
Tea and Crumpets my guinea pigs are also going to be riding by my feet, they are staying in a smaller crate, with there water bottle, food, hay, pillows and a few chew toys. To keep them form panicking on the drive, make sure you don't play your music to loud, make sure the temperature is just right for them and make sure they are secure and there temporary home dosent shake around. Personally I pet them which makes them calm down a lot.
Traveling with pets can be stressful, so make sure you have everything you need to make them feel comfortable.

Today we get pigs

After lunch today, we're driving a few hours to pick up the pigs. We're getting two Berkshire crosses today and one Kune-Kune on Sunday from a different place.  Dad has built the training pen behind the stove, you can see on the right there's the water and the far left is their house.  And, of course, Scotty named the two pigs,  Bop and Bonk 😂 Can anyone guess what those names are from?

Chicken eggs

For some reason the colder weather seems to be making the chickens lay more eggs, we're getting about eight.  And today I actually managed to catch a guinea hen 😂 Everything is changing with the colder weather expected the pond since it overflowed with the past storm.  Thats all for today, thanks for reading!

Ice ❄

The ice on the pool was about 1 ½ inches thick. (Of course I tried to stand on it 😏, it did break after a few seconds though) I don't know if you can see it, but it's really  thick.  And the shore of the pond was frozen too!  This is the sunset from the back deck around dinner time.  And here's a bonus picture of the ducks sleeping after they went swimming in the afternoon!
