And we're off! Day #1

Woke up super early this morning and began to finish packing up the truck for our adventure! When the sun first began to come up we left. It felt very comfortable and roomy inside the cab which was great! We managed to fit everything we needed for the trip and to live in our new house for a week.
Everything fit!
Sunrise from the mountain
Our first big city we drove through was Sacramento, which was really cool!
After a while of driving we started to drive through a whole long stretch of freeway with many popular factory's on either side, that was fun to see!
This is the last bit of green grass I saw this whole day.

Then after we got through the cities, we went through desert. That's it. Desert.

And that's the day time part for today! Cant wait to see what tomorrow will be!

Today we get pigs

After lunch today, we're driving a few hours to pick up the pigs. We're getting two Berkshire crosses today and one Kune-Kune on Sunday from a different place.  Dad has built the training pen behind the stove, you can see on the right there's the water and the far left is their house.  And, of course, Scotty named the two pigs,  Bop and Bonk 😂 Can anyone guess what those names are from?

Chicken eggs

For some reason the colder weather seems to be making the chickens lay more eggs, we're getting about eight.  And today I actually managed to catch a guinea hen 😂 Everything is changing with the colder weather expected the pond since it overflowed with the past storm.  Thats all for today, thanks for reading!

Ice ❄

The ice on the pool was about 1 ½ inches thick. (Of course I tried to stand on it 😏, it did break after a few seconds though) I don't know if you can see it, but it's really  thick.  And the shore of the pond was frozen too!  This is the sunset from the back deck around dinner time.  And here's a bonus picture of the ducks sleeping after they went swimming in the afternoon!
