Happy Thanksgiving! πŸ¦ƒ

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you all had an amazing day! We stayed home and made a whole bunch of food - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, Mac and cheese and a charcuterie.  What is your favorite dish? Here's the charcuterie I made, it turned out amazing!  Now that Thanksgiving is over, is anyone decorating for Christmas today? Thanks for reading and happy holidays!

Hiking and cooking

Last week, we went on a hike with the Hiltons at Shinleaf campgrounds. There were nice trails all around the lake and we found an abandoned graveyard there too!  One of our friends got a deer and processed it and gave us some ground venison, which we made into burgers πŸ”  Thats about all. Thanks for reading! Does anyone have any plans for Thanksgiving?

Around the farm

Not to much has happened this month, we have mainly just been getting ready for the winter ahead.  There was a pig running around our backyard a few days ago. We don't know how it got there or who's it was, it was just running around. We tried to get it into the pig pens, but it ran away. It was so cute and tiny! The ducks and chicken are all good, all the chicken are now laying. We get around 6-7 eggs every day! Scotty grew a full beard and wanted to show everyone.  It's almost Thanksgiving! Dose anyone have any plans?  Thanks for reading!

Happy Halloween!

This Halloween we went to downtown Louisburg to go trick-or-treating, can you guess what me and Scotty were for Halloween? Bellatrix Lestrange and Harry Potter! The whole downtown was blocked off and all the houses were decorated with a ton of decorations. The best/scariest part was that there was a guy whith a chainsaw who would chase people up and down the streets!  It was so much fun to see everyone in costumes and explore the downtown in the dark. What were you guys for Halloweeen? Happy (belated) Halloween everyone!

Halloween Spiderweb Cupcakes πŸ•ΈπŸ•·

A huge thank you to our grandparents who sent us all the ingredients!  This cupcake recipe is so much fun and simple to make! Its perfect for a Halloween party!  All you need is.... One box of chocolate cake mix and everything it says on the box to make the batter Marshmallows Candy eyes Cupcake wrappers Chocolate frosting  Start by making your cake batter and lining the cupcake pan with wrappers. *Tip! Use plain wrappers for the base since the batter will stain them. When they are done cooking then you put on your other wrappers.*   Fill up your cupcake wrappers roughly halfway and bake according to the box (we did 350 degrees for 21 minutes) When they are done and the toothpick comes out clean, let them cool for an hour. Then you can frost them! Now here's the fun part, marshmallow spiderwebs! Microwave your marshmallows in 5 second increments until they are gooey (Dont over cook!!)   Dip your fingers in water, then using your fingers spread the ma...

Carving pumpkins πŸŽƒ

Our pumpkins just get better and better every year, and I think this year is one of the best! We went over to our friends house and created a whole scene with pumpkins! (Scottys is the one on the top step eating mine, then Harlows, then Gwennas) And you'll never believe this, but one of our chickens laid an egg! Scotty found it right on the ground by the tobacco barn! Happy almost Halloween everyone!

Gearing up for winter!

It's beginning to get cold here so we tested out our "Water stove". The water stove is like a outside fireplace that warms the house with heated water. Since summer we have been storing up wood, we can fit so much wood inside it!  Another project we have been working on, is mom's garden. We tilled the whole thing, then covered it in plastic because the weeds get so bad, it turned out great!  The chickens are almost ready to lay eggs, no one has yet, but Scotty thinks they will soon! Other than that, not much is going on. We are getting ready for Halloween and getting our costumes ready! Hope you guys have a great weekend!
