Frogs, snakes, storms and ducks!

All around the pond, morning noon and night there are frogs. Lots and lots of frogs. Scotty just loves to find them and examine them, before he let's them go.  There is also a ton of snakes. The main type we have seen has been the black snake. Also known as a rat snake. It is the same type that ate our chickens.  Yesterday we got our first tornado warning! It never happened but we did get a ton of tunder and lightning from 10 to 12 at night! It has been a bit humid so far, but nothing to bad.  And sadly the ducks have moved outside. We will miss them!

Everything we have been doing!

We have been bust lately! From working in the woods all day to updating the house and going places, we have done a lot! On Wednesday we went to the North Carolina museum of natural sciences which was so cool! They have so many exhibits including a butterfly pavillian, ecosystems with live animals, a sky bridge and four story's to explore! Unfortunately four chick's passed away, but we got four new ones. They were supposed to be buff orpingtons, but the people at the store mixed up and we have mystery chicks!  The ducks are getting massive, they are almost old enogh to live outside. Well.. they are old enough to live outside but we love them so much 😁 And don't forget about the dog!  That's what we have been up to. How was your guy's week?

Happy Father's day!

Happy Father's day to all the dads! Today we moved the chick's outside to the big coop because the one inside was getting a bit to tiny for sixteen chickens. Yesterday when we got back home from the store, we found a baby chicken roosting on the couch by the dog! 🤣 Next we went shooting in the woods by the pond, which was really fun!  Since we started feeding the fish, a giant catfish had started coming up to the surface to eat! It's so giant, almost two feet long! Hope everyone has a great Father's day! And thanks to dad for being so amazing!💗

A walk around the property

Here is a ton of pictures that I took of our property today. Here is the pond, we recently started feeding the fish so we can see what types of fish we have in there and it turns out we have a lot! We have bass, bluegill, yellowgill and it turns out we even have catfish!  Dad has been working hard on the trail that goes all around the pig pen. Its almost done! Its super cool to walk on because you can all the the types of tress, birds, plants and wildlife here,    This is the deer blind by the creek. Scotty has plans to turn it into a secret hideout, but he has not started yet. Hollowed out tree near the creek. There are billions of ferns here! Sadly the creek has dried up because its getting hot, but it might fill up when it rains again.   Hope you enjoyed!

Man in the kitchen- Healthy chocolate dipped bananas

Hi guys. Man in the kitchen here. Today I am going to show you how to make the best healthy treat to satisfy your sugar craving and the best part about it is only five simple ingredients.  Three tablespoons of coconut oil Two tablespoons of cocoa powder Frozen bananas Maple syrup Shredded coconut (Optional) The first thing you have to do is melt three tablespoons of coconut oil and maple syrup to your liking, in a microwave safe bowl.  Mix in your cocoa powder and dip your frozen bananas in.(Do this as quick as you can because the coconut oil hardens fast). When fully coated, before it hardens, top with the toppings of your choice. We used unsweetened coconut but you can use whatever you want, like sprinkles, rice krispies, salt, caramel drizzle, candy, chopped up nuts and a ton more!  Thanks for reading and if you give these a try, let me know.

Man in the kitchen- Summertime surprise

Hi guys, Man in the kitchen here. Today I am going to show you how to make the best summertime drink, and its only five ingredients, plus its healthy. Start by getting together all of your ingredients. You need... Frozen watermelon- we filled about 1/2 of the blender with it. Honey- To your liking One whole lime Tajin- We love this stuff!  Water Rub the rim of your cup with lime juice. Take a plate and pour your spice on it. Rub the cup rim in the spice till its nice and coated. Add a fancy straw if you'd like and you can slice off a bit of lime to add to the rim of your cup when its done. Put all your ingredients into a blender and juice the remaining lime into it and blend on high till its all incorporated.   We chose to leave the seeds in, but you can de-seed your watermelon before grinding it.  And when that's all blended together, pour it into your cup. Don't do what I did. Whoops.  Nevermind, just clean that up.  Aaaaah. Now I can enjoy this drink....

16 baby chickens!

Early this morning mom got a phone call from the post office, telling us the chicks have arrived and were ready to be picked up! So she and dad drove right over and got the box! All sixteen of them made it safely and they were cheeping so loudly.  We immediately put them in their temporary house and they got warmed up and began to eat and drink. We got fifteen female Rhode Island Reds and one rooster, though we are not sure on the type yet.  They are sooooo tiny and adorable! They fit in your hand, and are so warm and soft.  And of course we cant forget about the ducks! Mrs.Wimpy dimple, Flippy Floppy and Wobbles are getting so big! They are already sticking there heads out of there house, but they haven't started quacking yet! Also, in case you were wondering, we have came up with a few chicken names but not all of them yet. So far we are sure the roosters name will be Chicken- Licken. And we have come up with a few more ideas, but none of them stuck because its s...
